Recommendations from the Personnel Committee
FBC Personnel Committee will be bringing the following recommendations to the membership of First Baptist Church. Discussion on both issues will be held at the February 24th business meeting. A vote on recommendation #1 will be held at the business meeting on Feb. 24. A vote on recommendation #2 will be held as per church policy after the service on March 3rd.
FBC Personnel Committee Recommendation
In order to better ensure the long-term continuity of our church staff, the Personnel Committee of First Baptist Church believes the church would be well served in securing a permanent Minister of Music rather than the present interim situation.
Additionally, in response to the excellent work that Michael Ware has done as interim Minister of Music, and the request of the First Baptist Church choir members to make Michael full time and permanent in his position, the FBC Personnel Committee makes the following recommendations to the membership of First Baptist Church.
The FBC Personnel Committee recommends temporary suspension of Bylaw II “Church Officers”, Section 2 “Other Ministerial Staff”, requiring a Search Committee to be selected for the purpose of finding an appropriate candidate to present to the church for a vote. This vote shall be held at the February Business Meeting of First Baptist Church.
The FBC Personnel Committee recommends the nomination of Michael Ware as permanent, full time Minister of Music. Open discussion of the motion will be held at the February Business Meeting. Final vote will be conducted via secret ballot by the church body at the end of the Sunday morning church service on March 3rd.
