First Connections March 9, 2018

First Baptist Church Shawnee

Be Disciples. Make Disciples.

I’m asking God for one thing,

only one thing;

To live with him in his house

my whole life long.

I’ll contemplate his beauty;

I’ll study at his feet.

 (from The Message, Psalm 27: 4)

Don’t forget to “Spring Forward” one hour tomorrow night, so you won’t be late for church this Sunday (March 11)!

Sermon, Sunday March 11, 2018:

“For the Sake of the Gospel”

I Corinthians 9:19-23

Paul Stevens

Combined service in the Sanctuary.

This Sunday, March 11

March 11 will be Paul’s last Sunday as Interim Pastor of First Baptist Church, Shawnee. The Morning Worship will be a combined service. Also, the Bison Glee Club will be here during the morning worship. We will honor Paul and Ruth at the end of the morning combined service.  Also, the children’s departments will be preparing cards for Paul and Ruth.
Sunday evening we will have a commissioning service for Paul and Ruth as they go forward to their next opportunity of service.  There will be a time of prayer where everyone individually will be able to pray for Paul and Ruth as it will be a laying on of hands.  There will be a short reception after this time of prayer.
Please plan on attending both services so that the gratitude of First Baptist Church, Shawnee, will be felt by Paul and Ruth and they will be encouraged as they go from us.
