First Baptist Church Shawnee

Be Disciples. Make Disciples.

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, or tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.” Matthew 6:34

Sermon, Sunday, July 16, 2017: Paul Stevens

Reception for the Burnetts

There will be a reception in Fellowship Hall honoring the Burnett Family this Sunday, July 16th, following morning worship.  Come by to enjoy refreshments and bid farewell to Mark, Cari and Calloway on their last Sunday at FBC, Shawnee, before they move to Georgia.  A basket will be available for cards/gifts.

Instant Church Directory App

This is a reminder that our Pictorial Directory that was put together a few years back has an app that you can easily use on your smart phone. With this app, you can look up fellow church members, their addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. It is very handy to have. Here is how: 1) Just make sure that you have a current, working email address that has been entered into the pictorial directory information; if you are not sure about this, just call Mary and we can figure it out. 2) Go to your app store on your smart phone and download the free app named “Instant Church Directory” . 3) The app will prompt you to create and enter a password. That’s all there is to it, but if it is still daunting, swing on by the office & we’ll try to help you with it – Mary.

Contemporary Worship Service

We now have a Contemporary Worship Service in Fellowship Hall at 10:45 am, going on at the same time as the Traditional Worship Service in the Sanctuary.  As we begin adjusting to some new logistics that come with this, we will be forgoing the Children's Sermon for the summer. Nursery and Kid's Chapel also available for the new service.

Teacher School Supply Drive

July 16-August 20

We all know that teachers spend a lot of their own money to get extra supplies for their classrooms. We feel our church members would like to give back to teachers by helping with some of the supplies teachers find themselves running out of. We will be contacting our teachers here at FBC for their supply lists, but in the meantime, below is a list of ideas. There are bins to put your donations in at the Welcome Center. Thank you for helping support our teachers.

Contribution Statements

The January-June 2017 Contribution Statements are ready to be picked up in the Welcome Center.  If you would like your statement mailed please let us know by calling the church office at 275-6111.

 Teller Help Needed

We have a committee which is called the Tellers, whose sole purpose is to count the offerings, make out the deposit forms, and get the money to the bank weekly. We are in need of someone as a back-up Teller, just in case someone (like Mary) is having health difficulties and cannot be there. It would just be an occasional job and full training is provided – although none of it is very difficult. Call Mary – 275-6111 – if you are interested or if you would like more info.

Give Online. It’s Easy!

FBC is excited to announce that you can now manage your giving On-Line! Giving On-Line is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete giving history from anywhere you have internet access. Go to our for more details.

If you move or change your phone number or email address, please contact us at the church office so we can make the changes to the church directory and database. (Call 275-6111 or email Thank you!  Mary
