FIRST CONNECTIONS – February 3, 2017
First Baptist Church Shawnee
Be Disciples. Make Disciples.
And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:5-6
Please join the FBC Staff and Personnel Committee
in welcoming Paul Stevens and his wife Ruth to our church.
We are happy to announce that Rev. Stevens was voted to be Interim Pastor on Sunday, January 29 with a yes vote in excess of 96%. Paul is engaged in pastoral duties as of February 1.
Message from the Personnel Committee:
As Paul and Ruth Stevens live in Edmond and will be spending most of their week in Shawnee, we would like to provide them with a personal space in our building. The third floor office suite will lend itself well to this purpose; however, we will need a few furnishings to accomplish this mission. We are looking for some couches, living room chairs, lamps and perhaps sofa tables. If you have any of these items that you would like to donate to this purpose, please call the church office and leave your name, phone number and the item you have to donate. Someone from Personnel will get back with you. Thank you all in advance for your help.
