First Baptist Church Shawnee

Be Disciples. Make Disciples.

“Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:1-3

Celebrate Recovery Informational Meeting

Celebrate Recovery is a non-denominational, inclusive, biblical recovery program for those struggling with anything from ordinary daily strongholds in their life to those with addictions of any kind. It is handled with confidentiality, is church sponsored, has strict accountability for all leaders. We are currently planning for a leadership training for Celebrate Recovery here at FBC, starting very soon. If you have any interest in working in a program like this, please call Audrey at 918-557-7862, Ray at 918-557-7863, Mary at 275-6111, or Mark at 765-4759.  All inquiries will be handled confidentially. Celebrate Recovery Informational Meeting: Sunday, Oct. 15 at 5 pm and Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7 pm. Anyone is welcome. This is an opportunity to find out more about Celebrate Recovery and how it functions and why we are passionate about its effectiveness.  You do not have to be interested in being a leader in CR or even in attending CR – Even just the curious are welcome to come to one of these meetings. They will be held in the Pre-teen room on 3rd floor (there will be directional signs.)

First Baptist Church

125th Anniversary Celebration

Sunday Morning, October 29

There will be a special combined morning service (10:45 am) with guest speaker Paul Calmes, the Lord’s Supper, and followed by a free luncheon. We would love for people to give testimonies/stories/memories during the luncheon; please contact Elaine to volunteer.

Everyone is invited! Please come!

October is Fire Prevention Month

If you have a closet/closets at the church which you regularly use, please make a plan to clean these out sometime during the month of October. Clean closets are safer closets. We don’t want to restrict you by dictating exactly when or how this will happen, but please send an email to the church and just let us know your plan. Thanks a bunch!

This is from Cindy Hanchey: please share the link below to Romar Beach Baptist Church in Orange Beach, AL. Ask for prayer that they find a pastor--they have no monies for a salary. It's a beautiful facility! We attended a Wednesday prayer meeting while we stayed in a condo next door. I think their membership is around 45. They offer a Retreat Facility and provide outreach to many in that area.      http://www.romarbeachbaptist.org/
