First Connections – October 21, 2016

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

Business Meeting Agenda, Sunday, October 23, 2016, 6 pm

  • Personnel Committee, Deacons and Church Council, recommend to the church that Elaine Hawkins be ordained to the Gospel Ministry.
  • Deacons and Church Council, recommend we begin a contemporary church service to be held at 8:30 am Sunday mornings to begin in the near future.
  • Deacons, It was just discovered that Roger Henson’s name was inadvertently left off the recent FBC Deacon Election Ballot.  Roger is a Deacon of FBC and was eligible for election to active status.  We have apologized to Roger for this oversight and will present him for deacon election by ballot at the FBC business meeting this Sunday, 10/23/16.

Silver Urns

While cleaning out two of the flower closets here at the church, the decorations committee found 2 silver urns; however they are not a matching set. We believe that they are from two sets and would really appreciate it if anyone can shed light on where the others could be. Please call the church office-275-6111.

Medical Supplies Available

Also, during a recent closet clean-up, it was discovered that we have more medical supplies than we need to be storing here at FBC. We have shower chairs, walkers, canes, glucometers (but no strips-sorry), and several other things. THESE ARE FREE TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS THEM. Please call the church office for details, 275-6111.

Give Online. It’s Easy!

FBC is excited to announce that you can now manage your giving On-Line! Giving On-Line is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete giving history from anywhere you have internet access. Go to our website for more details.

If you move or change your phone number or email address, please contact us at the church office so we can make the changes to the church directory and database. (Call 275-6111 or email Thank you!  Mary
