Summer Sunday School Help Sign-up

This Summer, I am working on making a great Summer Sunday School for our children from birth through 5th grade. I’d like to invite you to help teach or hold babies during the Sunday school hour (9:15-10:35am) at least one Sunday this summer, from June 1st to August 10th .  Most classes have regular teachers who are staying through the summer and just need an assistant. We will have 6 Sunday School rooms during the Sunday School hour, just as we have all during the school year. We need two people in each room, each Sunday, plus a Storyteller who is only there from 9:45-10:05am. You can also call, text, or email me with the Sunday(s) you want to help. There will also be a paper signup sheet on the Preschool Sign-in desk starting this Sunday. Thanks, Elaine Hawkins (613-1937)

This is a link to the master list in a google doc so you can sign up.

For the Youth Choir Mission Tour: Bath towels are needed; they will be donated to the mission in Chicago that the youth will be working in while on their tour.

Church Business Meeting—Sunday, June 22, 6:00 pm

On the Agenda:
Organizational Reports and Recommendations:

  • Properties Committee recommends to remove six pews from the back of the Sanctuary
  • Old business-RDS Upgrade (from Finance Committee)
  • Discuss RDS upgrade to the cloud, to be able to work with newer software. Cloud will cost approximately $700 for the remaining 2014 year, then in December FBC will need to pay $1300 for the same cloud service for 2015. Recommend approval of $2,000 expense to the Equipment account for the RDS upgrade to the cloud. As a result, the Equipment account will be over budget by $2,000 this fiscal year if all other expenses are incurred.

Security Guard Job Description (from the Personnel Committee): The FBC security guard will work from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM Sunday mornings, 5-7 PM Sunday evenings, and from 5-8:30 PM Wednesday evenings. The pay is $8 hour. Job responsibilities will be to watch the north and east parking lots, watch for people entering the church while services are in progress, helping children and others cross the street after the services are over and making sure all church doors have been locked after services. Contact Mary for job application at 275-6111.
